Do you have enough hats?
I had to drop records off at the doctor's office yesterday afternoon and stopped in Target to look for new tennis shoes.  A lady stopped me and said "Do you mind if I asked you a personal question?"  Uh no.
(thinking, okay I wonder what this is about??)

She asked "Do you have enough hats?"   {grin}  She is a 3 year breast cancer survivor.  Young lady with 3 little people in her cart.  She said she has about 50 and is looking to share them.  How nice.

I've been having a pitty party lately -- and she really brightened my day yesterday.

Of course this morning, we are back to the party.   I didn't turn the radio on until I made it to the front gate of post because I spent the time talking to the Lord.

Do you know, its NOT very nice to lie about your brother or sister.  Not nice at all.  God don't like ugly, as Ann would say.  You are supposed to prefer your brother.  Enough said.

Anyways -- this song came on.  I've not ever heard it before.   The video is a little rough, but the words spoke to my heart.  I cried.

Three in the morning,
And I'm still awake,
So I picked up a pen and a page,
And I started writing,
Just what I'd say,
If we were face to face,
I'd tell you just what you mean to me,
I'd tell you these simple truths,

Be strong in the Lord and,
Never give up hope,
You're going to do great things,
I already know,
God's got His hand on you so,
Don't live life in fear,
Forgive and forget,
But don't forget why you're here,
Take your time and pray,
These are the words I would say,

Last time we spoke,
You said you were hurting,
And I felt your pain in my heart,
I want to tell you,
That I keep on praying,
Love will find you where you are,
I know cause I've already been there,
So please hear these simple truths,

Be strong in the Lord and,
Never give up hope,
You're going to do great things,
I already know,
God's got His hand on you so,
Don't live life in fear,
Forgive and forget,
But don't forget why you're here,
Take your time and pray,
These are the words I would say,

From one simple life to another,
I will say,
Come find peace in the Father,

Be strong in the Lord and,
Never give up hope,
You're going to do great things,
I already know,
God's got His hand on you so,
Don't live life in fear,
Forgive and forget,
But don't forget why you're here,
Take your time and pray,
Thank God for each day,
His love will find a way,
These are the words I would say

Home.
Hospitals definitely don't mess around ... or I should say insurance companies! Although I am very thankful for mine ... they've paid out a lot this year for me. =) Glad to be home.

Feeling blessed to have received emails, messages, and calls from around the globe. Canada, Oman, Trinidad and Tobago, Albania -- and of course the US! Missouri, Leavenworth, Lansing, Kansas City, New Jersey, Georgia, Colorado, and Arkansas ... thanks guys!

I told them not to bother, but they sent flowers anyway -- the Hilton's and my co-workers.
The hospital wouldn't let me keep the Hilton's yet, but I did get the balloon and Life Bear!
They're beautiful -- as you all are -- thanks so much.

22 days and counting ...
Last time I checked we had 3 months until the wedding, now its 3 weeks! I feel like we have a list a mile long ... but it's 90% things we couldn't have done any sooner anyway. (sigh)

I've just recently found my friend Jeanine from Colorado on Facebook and she lives in St. Joe, Missouri now. (about 45 minutes from Leavenworth) And she's coming to the wedding!

I'm super excited to make contact with her again, although we live a little far to hang out, which is a bummer because I don't have someone like that in my life right now. I miss doing "things" with another sister in the Lord. Too much alone time means too much thinking. :(

She's an artist and super talented and has some things in a show later this month, I hope to get up there and see it. We're blessed to own (been given!) some of her work. She's who I rode horses with in Colorado.
Stephen's 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Espinosa had asked me to make a mule for a program that they were having at school. I can't remember what the play was about but I do remember the fun we had making the mule. Totally her creativity. This is Jeanine and Ol' Sal.

I could NEVER have done that myself -- I helped her rather than she helping me. We hauled that thing to the school in the back of a UHaul truck and rolled it down the hall. I remember Mrs. Espinosa walking out of her class and seeing the mule, and just standing there with her mouth open, totally speechless. She loved it and begged to keep her.

Good times -- I am super excited!!! I can't wait to see her again.

Oh -- Knees delivered today .. and she gave birth to 2 goats!! Lexi and I hope one is a girl because we are going to work on getting hub to let us keep her. Lexi came over the other night and sat in the field with Bandit in her lap. Its such a peaceful feeling to cuddle one of God's little critters.

My Goodwill Blessing

I have seen these trays quite often, but really had no knowledge of the craftsmanship of them.

I scored at Goodwill this week -- this one was brand spanking new in the box! And about a tenth of the price new.

Awesome!
God is so awesome sometimes -- (well He is all the time, I just neglect to see it sometimes!) My hub went to B*st Buy yesterday to exchange the laptop and they told him that, they were sorry but we were out of luck on the hard drive from the old one. (sigh) At first I was angry, and then I was a little overwhelmed as there were photos I had not backed up on there, tax return records (we do our own) and things like that.

This morning when I was praying, I prayed a simple prayer. "Lord can you please have them find that hard drive?" With everything else going on, this felt like another ton sitting on my chest.

Talked to hub at lunch today and he said " B*st Buy called, said they found it, bring whatever you have to transfer the information!" Imagine that? How awesome is that? Thank you Lord!

Side note: Please pray for one of our international officers, his mom is very ill, and he is here and she is thousands of miles away. He does not have the funds to make the trip home, he is hurting and she is suffering greatly. Please pray that God has His way and takes care of that family. My heart hurts for him.

Pray for my children -- that they obey the voice of God. They are truly in a battle -- its a spiritual battle, but my faith and my trust are in Jesus Christ. The creator and giver of life. I am believing Him for great things!

My Purse Blessing!
While I did not win any of the Dog Days Of Summer Giveaways --I actually did not get a chance to visit very many blogs -- but I am really excited about 96 people visiting my blog!

I did receive my beautiful purse from Iris. Iris, is the very humble hostess of Thankful Thursday.
... all I can saw is ... Wow! Honestly, I was a little surprised at the quality and making of the purses. Its a REALLY nice purse. Did I say, REALLY REALLY nice.

Iris, I believe purchased it through Speaking Thru Me. If you are looking for a gift for a sister in your church group -- or even a new mommy. Please do go visit her blog -- there are some great items for sale. I was peeking this morning, and I really like a pink tote bag, it would be great for my work stuff!

Here's my blessing purse (the only the Lord knows how TRUE the verse is speaking to me at this season of life.)

Plus she sent another gift -- You did not have to do that Iris! And once again, I have to see the hand of the Lord in this. At times, we do not know how the Lord is using us to be a blessing to others or to speak through them. In this, He truly has. Iris, thank so very, very much. It was more than a giveaway ... it was straight from the Lord through you, a willing vessel. Hugs!!!

Here is my extra gift: (can you not see the Hand of God?)

A Blessing in Return
It's been a rough week -- things in turmoil in our home -- I welcomed the break away from most of my family on Saturday. I think I needed it, and so did they.

This morning, when I was checking email, lo and behold -- to my total surprise, there was an email from Iris of Sting My Heart and my favorite "Thankful Thursday"

I am the blessed recipient of "the purse!"

How absolutely totally cool is that?

And notice the scripture -- it is most fitting at this season of my life. Thanks Iris!!

P. S. You can also purchase one of these -- visit Leigh Gray at Speaking thru Me.

Sad Day for us!
Today, our International Students graduated after a very tough year long course. Some earned Masters Degrees as well -- some came to the US and learned English and then plunged right into some difficult studies in military training/operations.

Many have been away from families for 16+ months! It was sad to see them go -- so many of them are just so ... awesome! Many hugs and a few tears went around.

But while we are sad -- their families are filled with the joy of their homecoming! I've gained some forever friends, I know that if I ever am blessed enough to visit their countries -- a welcome mat will be waiting my arrival, and should they ever need something, they all know that they only need to ask.

My heart is heavy, but I am blessed for knowing some of the best military officers in countries around the world! Senegal, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Latvia, Romania, Moldova, Algeria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. (to name a few!)

Ice Cream for your Birthday! (and Perfume)
I love ice cream! And in all honesty in the last 14 years, I have eaten either: fat-free, sugar free and/or low fat varieties. Its been rare that I have had 'real' ice cream. But you know what, it's still yummy! I don't miss it.

And yes, I am one of those that LOVE skim milk. It doesn't taste watery to me -- its just plain good! And the good news is, if you become a Blue Bell member, they will give you a coupon for a free 1/2 gallon of ice cream during your birthday month!! How cool is that? Blue Bell used to carry a fat free/sugar free variety of Banana Split - and it was so good! Too bad, my birthday is in December!

A free sample of Sara Jessica Parker "Lovely" perfume. You do have to complete a 10 question survey. Took less than a minute.

Smell good while you enjoy your ice cream! Hugs!
